Buddy Bags

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for all who are supporting this program. Today we received an extremely generous anonymous donation that will allow us to continue to provide “emergency” Buddy Bags throughout the rest of the school year and the summer. These bags are kind of like Buddy Bags on steroids…lol…They are a small bag of groceries, some of the usual Buddy Bag items and toiletries.
God is good. All the time!!

Would you like to say “Thank You” ?
There are so many people out there helping others, going above and beyond what they are expected to do. Health Care Providers, Truck Drivers, Grocery Store Employees, our Police & Fire Departments and many more  that we don’t even know.
If you would like to set down and make a Thank You card or help your children create one, please take a picture and Email it to us at mark@fumccp.org or you can text it to (219) 689-3727.
We will be showing all the cards we receive on our website.
You can say Thank You to the people you don’t even know.

To the People of Our Church

One project that we are excited about and eager to initiate for our church family is for high risk elderly individuals. If you are high risk and unable to get to the grocery store on your own, please contact us (219-663-1515 or admin@fumccp.org) with your grocery list, address, and phone number so that we can provide you with what you need as it is available and have it delivered to you, by one of our own!

Dear Friends,

If you haven’t heard or seen in the News/Internet, and if you see people across the nation set out a candle, a lantern, or a luminaria on their porch or front walk at 7pm tonight, this light is to honor YOU!
It’s at times like this when things look dark, and we fear they’re about to get a whole lot darker, that we look for ways to show that we haven’t lost hope.
The small light is meant to signal our community’s THANKS and SUPPORT for YOU, OUR FELLOW HEALTHCARE WORKERS and FIRST RESPONDERS who are the soldiers on the front line in the war against the novel coronavirus.

A Special Thank You
Today it was our privilege to provide 60 dozen Risen Roll donuts to the staff of St. Anthony’s hospital, along with 350 notes of appreciation for our heroes in scrubs.
Thanks to all who write notes, and a very special thank you to our partners View Outdoor Advertising and Risen Rolls Schererville for generously making this possible.

Family Sermon Devotional – 04/5/2020

After the message, take some time with your family and discuss the following questions.  Share your answers with one another.  Be sure to open your bible and dive in to the scriptures provided.  What a way to start your week!

Silence can be a comfortable thing or a scary thing. When in your life do you enjoy silence, and when are you uncomfortable with it?

If you could picture yourself in the Palm Sunday story, where do you think you would be? Waving a Palm? Just watching from a distance? Cheering? Or silent?

The crowds were cheering because they were excited about Jesus coming to town – when was the last time you had news so exciting or good you just couldn’t keep quiet about it?

What do YOU think Jesus meant when he said “If these (voices) were silent, the rocks themselves would shout?” What do you think the rocks would say?

What are the way we can tell and live out the good news of Jesus even if we are stuck at home this week?

Talk about ways that you can responsibly be a blessing to someone else during this crisis.  Then, put it into action! Finally, we invite you to make a 10 to 15 second video of how you have been of service to Christ and to someone else.  Email this to mark@fumccp.org Or, you can text it to (219) 689-3727
