Adopt-A-Highway
Keeping Crown Point Clean, One Mile at a Time

Serving our local community starts right outside our doors. Through our Adopt-A-Highway program, volunteers help clean up a two-mile stretch of Broadway between Highway 231 and 101st Street twice a year. Anyone age 12 and older is welcome to join. Safety vests and trash bags are provided—just bring your work gloves and meet us at TECH Credit Union at 1:00 pm on the scheduled dates.

Missions Committee
Guiding Our Church’s Outreach with Purpose and Heart

The Missions Committee is the heart of our outreach efforts, responsible for distributing mission-designated donations to programs that make a difference. Members learn about various organizations and assess how we can best support their needs. This group meets on the second Monday of each month at 4:00 pm in the Church Library and is open to all adults. The committee also sponsors events like Dinner and a Show to raise funds and awareness.

Roatan Mission
Building Hope and Healing in Honduras—Together

Our partnership with the Methodist Church in Roatan, Honduras began in 2011. That year, our first mission team visited the island and met Pastor Joe Summers, who had been working with local churches for several years. One of the greatest needs was in West End, where the Methodist church building was deteriorating into Half Moon Bay. Architect Jim Smith joined our team and designed a beautiful, multi-purpose facility to serve as a church, community center, and medical clinic.

In 2013, we committed to raising $100,000 over four years to support this vision. Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and support from other churches and organizations, we exceeded our goal. The original building was demolished, a seawall and foundation were constructed, and the first floor exterior is now complete. Construction continues with plans for interior work, landscaping, and additional outreach spaces.

Our mission team continues to return annually, and we’ve established a 501(c)(3) organization—Roatan, Honduras West End Methodist Church Association, Inc.—to support ongoing fundraising and grant applications. Through prayer, dedication, and partnership, we are helping build a lasting place of worship, healing, and hope in Roatan.

Global Ministries
Responding to Global Needs Through UMCOR and Compassionate Action

As part of the United Methodist Church’s global mission, we support the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which provides humanitarian aid and development around the world. This ministry helps our congregation stay connected to global needs and respond with compassion and action.
Buddy Bags
Feeding Local Children, One Backpack at a Time

Buddy Bags provide weekend meals for children in our local schools who face food insecurity. Volunteers help pack and deliver bags filled with nutritious, kid-friendly food to ensure no child goes hungry when school is out. This is a hands-on way to serve our community and show Christ’s love in action.
