Questions & Answers

Here are some answers to common questions.

At FUMC, we strive to provide an experience where people can connect to God and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  We offer two ‘styles’ of worship to fit your personality and spiritual needs. Our traditional services incorporate liturgy, traditional hymns with organ accompaniment, prayer, scripture, and choral music.  Our contemporary service is more free form but still respectful of liturgy and worship.  In contemporary service, you will find a variety of instruments, praise music, and a more casual atmosphere.  Both services serve Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.

We encourage you to visit both services.  We hope that one of the services fills your spiritual needs and makes you feel that you’ve come home.

At First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, we love having children in attendance in our services and in our Children’s Ministry programs.  We understand that children may be noisy or may need to move around and we wouldn’t have it any other way.  We are here to support you and your family in your walk with faith.  We consider ourselves to be a family and hope that you feel at home with us!

You’ll find a wide variety of clothing at our worship services.  From shorts to suits and jeans to dresses.  We want you to join us and enjoy your experience.  Please wear whatever makes you comfortable!

At the end of each pew, you’ll find a red vinyl folder with  our attendance sheets.  We ask that you please sign in each week.  We use these records to track attendance, respond to needs, and adjust resources for services.  Thank you so much!
