In the words of A.W. Tozer, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” What is your view of God? Does it foster a desire for greater intimacy with Him or does it leave you feeling distant, guilty, uncertain, or striving to earn His acceptance and approval?
In this 6-week class we will address some common distorted views of God and how they negatively effect our relationship with Him. We will then present a more accurate, biblically-based view of God as represented in the incarnation of Jesus – “whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). By understanding the core truth that God is love (I John 4:16), we will consider the transformational possibilities of our true identity in Christ as God’s beloved children who are invited to interact with Him and advance His kingdom in the here-and-now. Specific spiritual practices will be recommended for how to embrace the truth of our belovedness in Christ.
The class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 beginning on 1/21/20 and go through 2/25/20.
