2019-06-23 Buddy Bag Golf Tournament

Buddy Bags provides weekend meals for local students who might suffer hunger over the weekend and school breaks. Students who qualify for the free lunch/breakfast programs at Timothy Ball and MacArthur Elementary Schools are receiving Buddy Bags which contain supplemental meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the weekend.
We currently serve over 200 Crown Point students thanks to Crown Point churches who have partnered with First United Methodist Church: First Christian Reformed, Cross Point, and Hillside Community. We have also been awarded grants from the Legacy Foundation, the Crown Point Community Foundation and the United Methodist Church Foundation of Indiana, along with a donation from Tri Kappa of Crown Point. Due to the generosity and dedication of all of these organizations, we’ve been able to grown and hope to continue to do so. Our annual budget is $30,000 breaks down to only $4.00 per student per week.
To support our project, we are hosting the 2nd Annual The Second Annual Charity Golf Scramble on Sunday, June 23rd at Oak Knoll Golf Club with a 1:00 pm shotgun start. Golfers, sponsors and donations of door prizes are needed. Please contact Bonnie Meyer at First United Methodist for more information at 219-663-1515 visit the church’s website (www.FUMCCP.org) or Facebook page.
