The Run for God 5k Challenge

Looking for a spiritual and physical challenge?  How about prayerfully considering joining us in our Run for God 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk challenge?

Did you know that running/walking is an effective way to strengthen ones Faith as well?  The Run for God 5k Challenge is a guide to running/walking consisting of a 12-week training plan with a Christian focus.

The program consists of a Bible study, workout plans, running education and a group run/walk lasting approximately 1½ hours.  The purpose is to prepare us physically, mentally and spiritually to be better witnesses for Christ.

As part of our running education, topics such as shoes, gear, injuries and core exercises will be discussed.  Our objective, which is designed for all levels of runners/walkers, is to introduce and enhance the sport of running while making it enjoyable, satisfying and rewarding.

The program will kick-off on Thursday, June 6th at 6:00pm at the First United Methodist Church and will continue every Thursday evening (excluding July 4th) through August 29th.  A $21.99 program fee will cover the cost of the Bible study and 5k challenge guide.  We will complete and celebrate our Run for God 5k challenge and journey of faith and endurance by participating in the Lowell Labor Day 5k to be held on Saturday, August 31st with a start time of 8:00am. All Run for God participants are responsible for individual race fees.

We ask you to prayerfully consider “Are you ready to step up and take that leap of faith and join us as we Run for God.”  Beginning Sunday, May 5th, we will begin our Run for God drive.  Flyers and registration forms will be at our Welcome Center and Fellowship Hall.  You can also register online (www.calstrider.org) and on Facebook by searching Run for God by Barb Hamner.
